AI search visibility audit
AI search visibility audits for small businesses
Finding out whether your business shows up when people ask AI tools what you do, and who is being named instead.
What this is
Most owners have never checked. It takes an afternoon to find out and the answer is usually uncomfortable, which is a good argument for knowing it.
This is the diagnostic that comes before any AI search work, because otherwise you are paying to improve something nobody has measured.
What you get
What gets checked
-
01
A set of real customer questions
The questions someone would actually type, including the ones where they do not know your business exists. "Who is the best X near me" is a different test from asking about you by name, and the first one is the one that matters.
-
02
Across the major assistants
ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google's own AI Overviews. They do not agree with each other, and where they disagree is informative.
-
03
Who gets named instead
The businesses appearing in your place, and which sources the assistants cite when naming them. That list is the most actionable output of the whole exercise.
-
04
Whether your site can be read at all
Checking whether your content is in the page source or injected by script. If it is the latter, most AI crawlers see an empty page, and that finding usually explains everything else.
-
05
A ranked fix list
What to address first based on what would move soonest, which is often unglamorous and technical rather than about content.
Why the results vary
Ask the same assistant the same question twice and you may get different businesses. That is inherent to how these systems work and it is not a flaw in the testing.
What that means practically: this is a picture of tendency rather than a rank report. Being named in four of ten runs is a meaningful signal. Being named in none is a much stronger one. I will report what was actually observed, including the inconsistency, rather than presenting a single flattering run as the result.
What it costs
Quoted after a free consult, because what it takes depends entirely on what you already have. Book a call, I will tell you what is involved, and you get a number before anything starts. Website plan details are on the pricing page.
A paid piece of work. If you just want to know whether you show up at all, ask on the free consult and I will check a couple of questions live rather than charging you to find out.
How this differs
Same diagnostic shape as an SEO audit, entirely different surface. An SEO audit reads your site and Google's index. This reads what assistants actually say about your industry in your area.
Competitor analysis examines one named rival across search and Maps. This starts from the question rather than the rival, and often turns up businesses you were not aware were competing with you.
Questions
What people ask
Can I do this myself?
Yes, and you should try before paying for anything. Ask ChatGPT who the best business in your trade near your town is and see what happens. What you are buying here is doing it systematically across tools and turning the result into a plan.
What if I do not show up at all?
That is common and it is usually fixable. The frequent causes are content not being in the page source, thin business information, and no mentions on the sources these tools rely on.
Do the results change?
Constantly. That is why the report covers repeated runs and reports tendency rather than a single result presented as fact.
Is it worth paying for this now?
It is worth knowing. Whether it is worth acting on depends on whether your customers have started asking assistants instead of searching, and that varies a lot by trade. I will give you my honest read on the call.
